New Modus operandi of a Snatcher caught on cam in Cavite!

On a recent viral Facebook post, a concerned netizen alarmed the public about a possible new modus operandi of an alleged snatcher in Dasmariñas, Cavite. In the videos recorded by a dash camera and were shared on the said social media platform, a man who introduced himself as a police officer approached the netizen inside a car and asked the latter if he could take photos of the car in front of him. According to him, they are conducting an entrapment operation and he didn’t have a cellphone to document it.

The “police officer” was heard saying,

“Patulong naman kuya, baka pwedeng papicturan nung plate number ng kotse, wala kasi kaming cellphone. Warrant of arrest niya kasi, may kinidnap siyang bata ipinapatubos, nagpapanggap ako na ako yung magulang.”

When the netizen questioned the “cop” on how he plans to send the picture, the fake police officer then said, “sa messenger na lang.” However, when asked about the bogus officer’s name, he refused to answer and urged the netizen to take pictures first.

The netizen driving the car then admitted to the man that they was nervous. That’s why the police officer asked the netizen if he could be the one to take the video. The person behind the dash cam agreed and gave their cellphone to the stranger.

The “officer” tried to distract the netizen by asking him random questions and told him that someone was calling him, which the person said was his mother.

In the latter part, we can see the bogus police officer asked for permission to leave and pass the video to one of his colleagues. Riding his motorcycle, the suspect immediately drove off and took with the cellphone with him.

After a few moments, the person behind the recording realized that his gadget was already stolen. So, he revved up his engine and gave chase.

The following scenes in the video were very intense, the netizen managed to catch up to the “cop” bumped his motorcycle which caused the latter to fall.
